During Jason dive J2-980 the ROV transited south from the International District vent field to inspect Skadi, a snowblower that vented large amounts of microbial material and fluid after the 2011 eruption. Warm fluids, bacterial mat, and clams could still be seen in what remains of the structure. Credit: UW/OOI-NSF/WHOI; V17.
