Slope Base PN1A Pano Image

Slope Base PN1A: The extension cable fromPN1A to the Deep Profiler vertical mooring (SBVMW4  – 926 m) was plugged into low-volate node LV01A node at the J03 port. A strain relief was attached to LV01A , and te cable was installed with ROCLS. ROCLS was unlatched from ROPOS and the cable lay was surveyed. ROPOS reattached to ROCLS and ascended back to the ship. The Slope Base Site is located at PN1A at a depth of ~2900 m. It will host a state-of-the-art instrumented Shallow Profiling Mooring, a Deep Profiling Mooring, and an array  of seafloor instruments.
