In 2013 during the VISIONS'13 Expedition, two benthic flow meters were deployed in active seep sites at the summit of Southern Hydrate Ridge. The two different instrument packages have different sensitivitites in terms of measuring "low" and "high" flow rates. They will be recovered in 2014 and follow-on analyses of the sampled fluids will allow calculation of fluid flux locally. The two sensors were developed by Evan Solomon (Mosquito - University of Washington) and Mike Tryon (CAT - Scripps Institution of Oceanography).
