The second most dominant species of Gastropod at Axial Seamount is the Glob Snail. These tiny snails with a brown high-spiral shell are commonly found living among the limpets and tube worms on hydrothermal vents.

Pycnogonids are abundant on many sulfide structures in the vent fields within the caldera of Axial Seamount. These 8-legged arthropods are commonly found in areas where venting has stopped, leaving variably oxidized edifices. Here, they are associated with snails and a small scale worm ~ 1 cm in length. Feathery blue ciliates thrive in a diffuse flow site at the base of the hydrothermal chimney "Escargot"; in the International District hydrothermal field. Also visible in the background are limpets and snails and a red scale worm.
