The OOI Regional Cabled Array (RCA) consists of state-of-the-art instruments cabled to high-power and high-bandwidth networks installed across the seafloor and throughout the water column for interactive studies of the ocean. It is a part of the NSF-funded Ocean Observatories Initiative, an integrated infrastructure program composed of science-driven platforms and sensor systems that measure physical, chemical, geological and biological properties and processes from the seafloor to the air-sea interface.
