Leg 4 of the VISIONS’13 UW-RSN OOI expedition ended in Seattle on August 20th after demobing the ROV ROPOS in Victoria. The ROPOS crew completed the entire demobe in 8 hrs, working efficiently to offload all of the their gear at Ogden Point in Victoria on August 19. Upon arriving at the UW School of Oceanography dock the next morning, offloading of all the RSN science, engineering and educational gear commenced. We are all glad to be home, but our minds are already on the exciting times next year will bring when we install 9000 ft-tall moorings connected to the cable, as well as a very large number of both water column and seafloor sensors – stay tuned…..
