Following nine months of highly successful Cabled Array operations, the University of Washington Cabled Array team wil soon sail on the second Operations and Maintenance cruise VISIONS’16.
Following nine months of highly successful Cabled Array operations, the University of Washington Cabled Array team wil soon sail on the second Operations and Maintenance cruise VISIONS’16.
The Cabled Array VISIONS’15 35-day cruise completed installation of the three Deep Profiler Moorings, as well the recovery and reinstallation of junction boxes, mooring science pods, and ~100 cabled instruments for the first Operations and Maintenance period of the OOI.
The VISIONS ’14 expedition will take place on board the 274-foot global-class Research Vessel Thomas G. Thompson and will utilize the state-of-the-art underwater robotic vehicle, ROPOS.
The VISIONS’13 expedition took place during July and August 2013, and successfully installed and tested some 22,000 meters of extension cables and four instrument subnets. All were left ready to be connected to the primary infrastructure.
