I am an undergraduate Geology student at Queens College CUNY. I am interested in studying about the intersection of submarine topography and geology. I had my first taste of oceanography when I had the opportunity to join a research cruise in the summer of 2017. The cruise was led by William Wilcock and Mark Zumberge; the goal of the cruise was to accomplish baseline data from the measurement of deformation in seafloor from the frictional stress of the subducting plates off the coast of Oregon in 2017. But, I was hooked on Oceanography after I spent my first day in the ROV control room gawking at the animal and plant life of the deep sea. In the world outside of my math homework, I can be found riding the subway back to Brooklyn.
