Jessica Noe is an undergraduate student in the UW Mechanical Engineering and Oceanography departments, returning to school after 10 years in manufacturing. She has been a student engineer of ocean technology this year, helping to design and build the new ROV Admare with UWROV, the UW’s underwater robotics organization. She has also joined ERIS, the UW Oceanography department’s own cabled observatory program for Portage Bay. She hopes to spend her second career building oceanographic devices for scientists, and continues to be deeply amazed and appreciative that she has the opportunity to experience a month at sea with the incredible team and technology that has built the Visions program and the Regional Scale Nodes.
