Due to poor visibility at the BIA/SIA engineering test site, the package was recovered before all of the interface tests were conducted. These tests were then conducted at a deeper site at Southern Hydrate Ridge where visibilty was not a problem (dive 1459). The objective of dive 1456 was to attach the recovery bridle to the BIA and to attach the ship's cable from the A-frame to the bridle.
