An Interactive Map of ROPOS Dive Data
As part of the public outreach portion of the RSN project, there are many different modes of live feedback, but currently there is no way for the public to view metadata for each ROPOS dive or visualize where the dives occur in a spatial context. The ROPOS Dive Map is a simple interactive map, using Leaflet (a Javascript mapping library), to view each dive as a point on a map. When clicking on each point, a pop-up window displays basic metadata and an image from each dive chosen by the science party. The markers are based on averaging the spatial location of all observations during a dive and and, thus are simply an estimation of the area where a dive is conducted.
