The VISIONS '11 science crew is working hard to be ready to load the ship when it arrives at the UW dock on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 9. Once the ship docks, there will be a huge burst of activity to ensure that everything needed for the cruise is on board and ready to go by the time the Thompson sails early on the morning of August 11. This video, produced last year for the ENLIGHTEN '10 expedition by Carlos Sanchez and Katherine Turner, communicates brillantly the frenetic and intense activity involved in loading a ship. For last year's cruise, the ROV Jason II was loaded at the UW dock, as seen in the video. This year, the Canadian ROV ROPOS will be loaded on August 11 in Victoria, British Columbia.
