The video presents an overview of a CTD rosette that includes a variety of oceanographic sensors (conductivity, temperature pressure (depth), fluorometer, pH etc) that measures fundamental ocean properties, as well an open framed rosette with Niskin bottles for taking water samples at designated depths for follow-on analyses onboard the ship and onshore. Samples must be taken in a particular order. Vertical cast data and analytical results are used to verify Regional Cabled Array instrumentation installed/recovered each year. The overview was part of a VISIONS’23 project produced by UW School of Oceanography student Kristine Prado-Casillas. Credit: Kristine Prado-Casillas, University of Washington, V24.
