Landung Setiawan

My journey began in central Java, Indonesia. Later, I moved to United States to further my studies. Currently, I am a senior at the University of Washington, School of Oceanography. In high school, I was involved in a special program called Ocean Research College Academy. This program strengthened my childhood passion for the ocean. I am very excited to participate in the VISIONS ’14 expedition. I hope to experience science and engineering first hand, rather than from textbooks or classes. I am eager further explore the relationship between chemistry and biology in a marine environment. This is the first seagoing expedition that I have ever encountered. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy singing, playing my guitar, and cajon. I also relish in riding my motorcycle along the coast, exploring new beaches, smelling the salty air, and watching the sun set.
