Dive Highlights J974 Axial Base

Jason highlights for Dive J2-974 at the Axial Base Site. This dive recovered the Shallow Profiler Science Pod that was extended 150 m out of the science dock. Jason used a buzz saw to cut the cable – with 400 lbs buoyancy, the pod rose rapidly to the surface and was recovered onto the R/V Revelle. It was an flawless recovery. Credit: UW/OOI-NSF/WHOI; V17.
