Hello! My name is Ari Paulik and am approaching my 4th year in pursuit of a B.S. in Oceanography and Marine Biology at the University of Washington. I have always been fascinated by the ocean and the power it holds over this planet and our everyday lives. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a passion for the behaviors of carbon and its storage within the ocean’s biological pump, as well as how the ocean’s floor can inform us of its history and potential future. I’m thrilled to be embarking on my first research cruise with VISIONS and am very excited to get to explore these topics in the deep ocean while assisting with ship operations.
