Izzie Fatland
My name is Izzie Fatland and I am a rising senior at Cornell University studying Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with a focus in oceanography. My previous research has explored relationships between air temperature and sea surface temperature. I am also interested in ocean biogeochemistry, carbon cycling, and the role of the ocean in climate regulation. I’m excited to join VISIONS ‘26 and learn more about ocean-crust interactions, deep-sea ecosystems, and plate tectonics. I’m looking forward to participating in seafaring research for the first time and utilizing the data provided by the Regional Cabled Array to inspire future research projects!
