Stefani Martynenko (Leg 3)

My name is Stefani and I am entering my last year at the University of Washington with a degree of B.S. in Oceanography. I decided to apply to this expedition because I think it will help me broaden my knowledge about careers associated with Oceanography and will inspire me to follow a certain branch in this broad field. I look forward to this unique opportunity with delight but also realize that it will be a lot of hard work, and I am prepared to take on the challenge. I consider myself a free soul and thus I enjoy the outdoors and traveling. Recently, I have taken on sailing as my new hobby but also love to paddle board, hike, photograph, surf, and play tennis. I am not particularly a history nerd but do love a good biography book. One unique thing about me is that I am the oldest child in a family of 8 kids.
