Katie Bigham

School of Oceanography Past Research Scientist

Katie first sailed with the OOI Regional Cabled Array team on VISIONS’14 as an undergraduate participant. Throughout her time as an undergraduate she worked with the team preparing for cruises, creating documentation, and refurbing instruments. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the megafuanal benthic community at Southern Hydrate Ridge using imagery collected during VISIONS’11. After graduating in 2017, she joined the team as a research scientist expanding her work with the group to include assisting with QA/QC efforts and mentoring new undergraduate assistants. She is now a Ph.D. student in New Zealand.
