Hi! My name is Sadie, and I am from Austin, Texas. I am an incoming junior at the University of Washington pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in environmental science and resource management. Nearly every process on earth ties back to the ocean, so the opportunity to explore how my many different interests relate to and are affected by the ocean is a dream come true for me. Additionally, I am very interested in the organisms that live in the deep sea and how they interact with their environment, so I am eager to explore these creatures and processes more directly. This my first time participating in a VISIONS cruise, and I am very excited to get to collaborate with so many talented individuals and to apply the skills I’ve learned throughout my time at UW in the most amazing environment.
